Investing in the safety of over 150 rural, suburban, and urban intersections in Ohio, the US 127/US 224 and Marsh Road Intersection was one of the first ODOT delivered projects funded by the recent increase in a gas user fee.
Based upon the recommendations of a feasibility study completed in December 2019, Fishbeck completed detailed design in 2020, ROW acquisition in 2021, and construction finalized in October 2022.
In the feasibility study many safety improvements including signage and complete intersection redesign were reviewed. Multiple intersection configurations were studied, including but not limited to, a roundabout and indirect left turns. After a public meeting and coordination with key project stakeholders, the preferred alternative chosen was a roundabout. Fishbeck completed the design process under a very aggressive schedule.
