Western Michigan University Kalamazoo Campus has changed over the years due to new buildings, modifications to roads and infrastructure, enrollment fluctuations, and other factors in how people travel. This has led the University to consider if the current parking configuration meets campus needs and whether parking is laid out in accordance with the campus master plan. A corresponding parking utilization review was conducted help the University understand if and where there is too much parking and whether changes can be made to improve efficiency and land use applications. In order to collect the necessary data for the report Fishbeck utilitzed their UAS to collect imagery. This served two purposes one was to count the number of vehicles in the parking lot and the other was to have an image for reference in the future.
