Working closely with the City of Eaton, evaluation began for economical alternatives and design improvements to the influent screen and primary settling tanks. The City was experiencing problems operating the existing screen due to structure deterioration. A structural platform at grade level where the screenings are discharged into a washer/compactor unit, then elevated to discharge into a dumpster was the chosen upgrade for the clarifier. Ohio Public Works Commission partially funded the rehabilitation of the sludge/scum collection equipment and the fabric odor control covers on the primary clarifiers.
