As Albion College nears its 200th Anniversary, the school is continually adapting to meet the changing needs of students from across the country and internationally. An idyllic campus in a small-town setting, parking is at a premium. Programs that provide work opportunities and off-campus experience have increased the student need for easily accessible parking as they may leave campus several times per week. Recent opportunities to return parking lots to green space in the core of campus have also reduced parking supply.
Fishbeck staff identified operational opportunities to maximize the current parking areas, including redesign of existing parking areas to increase the number of spaces without reducing green space. The final plan allowed Albion College to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff, improve safety along the railroad crossings, and maintain a beautiful campus core.
