Fishbeck designed a safer, more efficient traffic movement and a fresh, clean, and aesthetically pleasing entrance to Western Michigan University. The solution was a 170-foot-diameter roundabout and new boulevard entrance road. Vehicle and pedestrian interaction was minimized by providing a separated sidewalk and pedestrian underpass, utilizing three CON/SPAN® structures. Significant infrastructure improvements included sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, gas mains, telephone and fiber communications, street lighting, and landscaping.
