Fishbeck has recently completed a 3-mile-long mapping project in Midland, Michigan. The purpose of the project was to create a design drawing for a full reconstruct of this stretch of US-10. Due to the heavily trafficked roadway being a safety concern, Fishbeck utilized its 3D mobile scanning platform to map the entire roadway corridor in a matter of three hours. Traditional survey methods were employed to pick up all mapping safely outside the roadway while CAD technicians used the colorized scan data to extract all features within the roadway. The two survey data sets were merged to create a 3D CAD drawing for designers to work from.
