Fulfilling a 10-year vision for a landmark facility in Grand Rapids, New Holland Brewing Company opened this new 4-story, 60,000-sf building as a destination entertainment complex and a standout in the local microbrewery scene. Serving as a gateway into the City’s West Side and a statement of its ongoing renaissance, the building includes a large 2-level, restaurant with outdoor seating, a main level bar, upper level “speak-easy” with views into the distillery, and retail area for selling New Holland products. Additional seating is provided in a unique 3-story indoor beer hall with overhead glass doors opening to the street and an outdoor beer garden with stage. Supporting kitchen and beverage spaces are positioned to provide efficient staff access to all areas, including a separate tasting bar for public tours of onsite beer production areas.
As part of a mixed-use development, a separate lobby provides access to two levels of office space above the restaurant with a large rooftop garden and patio overlooking the city. The site also includes an adjacent retail and 4-level apartment building designed to blend well with its neighboring historic buildings while complimenting the bold design of the New Holland facility.
