Fulfilling a 10-year vision for a landmark facility in Grand Rapids, New Holland Brewing Company opened a 60,000-sf building as a destination entertainment complex and a standout in the local microbrewery scene. Serving as a gateway into the City’s West Side and a statement of its ongoing renaissance, the building includes a restaurant, an upper level “speak-easy” with views into the distillery, and retail area for selling New Holland products. Additional seating is provided in a unique 3-story, indoor beer hall with overhead glass doors opening to the street and an outdoor beer garden with stage. Supporting kitchen and beverage spaces are positioned to provide efficient staff access to all areas, including a separate tasting bar for public tours of onsite beer production areas.
As part of the mixed-use complex, a separate lobby provides access to two levels of office space above the restaurant with a large rooftop garden and patio overlooking the city. The site also includes adjacent retail and 4-level apartment building designed to blend well with its neighboring historic buildings while complementing the bold design of the New Holland facility.
