Fishbeck helped Steelcase renovate their design research showroom. The leadership team wanted to relocate their offices from the Global Headquarters to be closer to the departments housed in the Leadership and Excellence Center (LEC). Fishbeck worked with Steelcase to address infrastructure modifications to change from a showroom to office environment. Fishbeck planned the workspace with flexibility and collaboration in mind.
By providing different types of spaces, employees now have choices. Instead of only private offices and cubicles, the redesigned space consists of a variety of settings for various types of work and interaction. Employees can choose to work in one setting for private conversations, another setting for focused computer work, and then another for meeting with a group of colleagues. There are also social breakout areas and a work café helping promote employee engagement.
