Michigan State University | West Circle Drive Steam Distribution Road Reconstruction

Michigan State University | West Circle Drive Steam Distribution Road Reconstruction

Over four phases spanning 2012 through 2015, MSU replaced the oldest portions of their steam system. Originally built in the early 1900s, the steam tunnels around West Circle Drive had finally succumbed to the test of time. Constructing their replacement required surgical precision to avoid numerous mature trees and existing utilities as it sliced through one of the most historic and park-like campus portion.

Fishbeck provided full-service engineering including structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical design for this award-winning project.
