Fishbeck was tasked with completing a 3D scan of the 8-Mile Pump Station facility and related underground pipes and chambers for various equipment and system upgrades. Fishbeck utilized two different terrestrial scanners and a mobile scanner to complete this project. Because of the unique challenges with underground chambers, roadway, and building; it was necessary to use multiple scanning platforms. The scanning was completed over the course of two days and the team had to overcome the challenge of merging all data sets to create a cohesive point cloud that could be used to model the facility and related elements.
