Fishbeck Recognized for Conservation Efforts

Other

August 21, 2025

Fishbeck demonstrated its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship by achieving its second Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) Certification, powered by Tandem Global, for its office headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Fishbeck was designated Certified Silver, signifying leadership among the over 600 WHC Certification programs. Programs are given a Certified, Silver Certified, or Gold Certified designation. Established in 1989, WHC Certification remains the world’s only voluntary sustainability standard designed for broad-based biodiversity enhancement and conservation education activities on corporate landholdings.

Over the past few years, Fishbeck staff members have dedicated hundreds of hours to improving the quality of its Grand Rapids campus landscape, which is located on 14 acres and includes forested wetlands. Through coordinated volunteer efforts, Fishbeck has removed invasive species, made room for native species to thrive, and partnered with a local Girl Scout troop to install bat boxes on its campus that Fishbeck monitors monthly.

Looking ahead, the work continues with more invasive species removal, native planting, and efforts to create a habitat that supports pollinators and other wildlife.
