Michigan State University | Grand River Avenue Parking Ramp

Michigan State University | Grand River Avenue Parking Ramp

A new 730-car parking ramp met the demand for MSU parking while respecting the nationally recognized historic character of north campus.

Sensitivity to building mass and scale and height restriction led to the parking solution that uses both above-grade and underground parking levels. Exterior facades feature field-lain brick with stone trim and accents that match neighboring buildings, some of which are more than 100 years old. The incorporation of a continuous sloped roof serves to blend the ramp with its context while shielding from view additional parking tucked in at the roof level.
